About the Artist

Angie Follensbee-Hall was born April 20, 1976 in Catania Sicily, Italy. She knew she was an artist at a very early age, scribbling pictures all over her parent's books and walls. She was drawn to art classes throughout elementary school, and in high school she realized this could be a career. She began her college years at Elmira College, in Elmira, N.Y. as an art education major. The funny thing about being an art education major was that she took only one education course, but took several art courses each semester. She learned the art of papermaking in one of these education classes (just something to teach the kids), and she thought, "this is wonderful, I want to make more paper art!"

Eventually she transferred to Plymouth State College (now Plymouth State University), and upon watching a video about the Artist Christo's "Running Fence", she knew that she wanted to be a fine artist "I was a moment of artistic enlightenment. I was an artist-not just a teacher to be, but an artist." She changed majors from Education, to Fine Arts, and never looked back. But she took the paper with her. She continued to make her paper creations while majoring in Painting, and eventually left behind the world of canvas, oils, and brushes, "because the plant fibers just sang to me!" Her paper art creations have gone through many evolutions, and she continues to evolve with her style.

Angie lives in New Hampshire, with her husband Josh (a fine guitarist, musician, and yes, a school teacher!), her two "fairy" daughters, Isabella and Ellessia, and three cats, Jasmine "Jazza", Tasslehoff Burrfoot "Tassle", and Bubble O' 7.
